"Intimate Transgressions" is a beautiful and haunting, sometimes lovely and often troubling, and altogether stunning collection of artistic works exploring the impact of war and the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war. I hope more and more people will see it and that it will inspire more artists to do socially-engaged art."

The inspiration and starting point for this visual arts project is the disturbing situation of the 'Comfort Women' during and after WWII. In 2015, as we contemplate the 70th anniversary of the end of the war, it is important to address the position which these 'Comfort Women' occupy in the ongoing narrative of violence towards women all over the world. Intimate Transgressions highlights the impact of extreme sexual violence at during war and conflict situations at an international level. The exhibition features art works by a core group of  international artist and local artists from each of the host cities.
